About This Song is Yours

Founded in 2020, This Song Is Yours began as a music podcast inspired by NPR’s All Songs Considered and Zan Rowe’s Take 5. What started as a passion project chatting to artists about the music they love quickly evolved into a platform dedicated to the craft of songwriting. In 2023, the project expanded into video, and today This Song Is Yours exists as a podcast, video series, and music-led media platform for curious listeners.

Hosted by Australian Music Prize judge Simon Finck, This Song Is Yours is an AACTA-nominated podcast that focuses on how songs are written, shaped, and brought to life. The aim is simple: thoughtful conversations about music, without gossip, clickbait, or forced viral moments. We’re here for the details — the lyrics that took six months, the chorus that almost didn’t make the cut, and the records that quietly changed everything.

Each week, the podcast features in-depth conversations with songwriters at all stages of their careers.
