Felsmann + Tiley return with Protomensch (out via ORiGiN Music) - a bold and thought-provoking new album that reflects on the contradictions of modern humanity. The record explores the paradox of our “idiotic genius” - our ability to create extraordinary technological and scientific breakthroughs while simultaneously accelerating our own destruction. As we outsource our thinking to AI, surrender to endless media cycles, and chase progress at all costs, Protomensch becomes a sonic meditation on a world hurtling toward both utopia and dystopia at once - praying to God while playing God.
Felsmann + Tiley - God Is Lonelier
One of our favourites on the album. We loved the instrumental, Laius’ vocal performance took it even further, and when we saw the music video for the first time it felt like this one is the full F+T package.
Client_03, Lorn - The Last Human
The darkness and sound design in this one are something else. That gnarly bassline feels cerebral, like a violent sound bath.
Bicep - Chroma 010 Brillo
Our sound was heavily influenced by Bicep - and Chroma 000 is such a banger of an album. The detune on the lead synth in this track is absolute genius. Oh and we love a good Reese bass.
Sofi Paez - Amsterdam (Live from Reykjavik)
We’re big fans of Sofi, and this has been our favourite for a long time. We played this on the walk home from the studio for months and it still captures us instantly.
SOHN - Oblivion
SOHN’s voice and sense of melody is so unique - this one captures exactly why his music resonates with us so strongly, it's everything we hope to hear from him.
Sol Seppy - Enter One
The track starts so inconspicuously and raw, but the payoff at 2:45 has given us goosebumps every single time. For 20 years - not bad.
Hans Zimmer - Cornfield Chase
A bit of a classic by now, but we loved Interstellar, and this track has been burned into our musical memory since the first time we heard, saw, and felt it.
Volker Bertelmann - Remains
What a masterpiece - the space, the darkness, the sound design. We sometimes just sit in the studio and wait for that riff to hit.
Tomat - Fatigue
This is wonky and weird and wrong and it feels good.
Push - Strange World (Remastered 2000 Remake)
This is where we started - hearing this in the club for the first time is a core memory for both of us.
